Philipp Humm

The Space Between

Philipp Humm’s cycle The Space Between is an exploration of solitude in company, of the psychological distances that persist even in shared space. Figures are staged with clarity yet inhabit their settings like strangers. They perform gestures of presence, but the connective tissue between them has thinned, or vanished.

What distinguishes these works is not collapse, but suspension. Humm shows us what it means to coexist without cohesion. The stage is populated, but the atmosphere is one of emptiness: a silence thick enough to be seen.

Life transformation - Philipp Humm Philipp Humm is a German-British artist, filmmaker, and writer based in Milan and the South of France. His career gave him direct insight into the promises and perils of technological disruption at the highest levels of business and politics. Humm studied art at London Fine Art Studio and The Florence Academy of Art.
